A visual illustration of Kerryn Campbell’s sketches of the historic buildings of Burnie and their histories.
A captivating visual journey through time, Burnie Vintage brings to life the artistry and nostalgia of Kerryn Campbell’s exquisite sketches, revealing the soul of Burnie’s historic buildings and their untold stories.
Growing up on Wilmot Street, Kerryn witnessed the shifting tides of an industrial town in transformation. In this second volume, she delves even deeper, uncovering rare and hidden architectural treasures—some standing defiantly against time, others lost to progress but not forgotten.
These buildings were more than bricks, mortar or timber; they were the heartbeats of Burnie’s earliest days, etched with the names, dreams, and legacies of those who once walked their halls. Yet, as the years pressed forward, many of these grand structures yielded to modernity, their echoes fading into history.
Through Kerryn’s masterful hand, the past rises again. Her intricately detailed sketches, woven with historical photographs, capture the elegance and resilience of Burnie’s architectural heritage—a visual record to the beauty of a bygone era and a celebration of our city’s enduring spirit.
