A New Kind of Beautiful by Suzy Zail

Paige Wilding is having the best year of her life, going to parties, hanging out with the cool kids and painting to win a scholarship to New York, but Paige has a secret that she doesn't want anyone else to know.  Paige has Stargardts disease and there is no cure.

As Paige's vision worsens she needs her friend, Jazz, more than ever to help her get into parties and still seem cool.  But soon Jazz is acting different and Paige isn't sure why.  Then there is Zac.  Zac is an artist like Paige, but has an entirely different artistry.  While Paige struggles with her Stargardts, she also struggles with her painting.  How can she paint if she can't see?  In the end will Paige hold on to her dream and friend or like her vision will they leave her too?

A New Kind of Beautiful shows you that you shouldn't be ashamed of your vision loss and that losing your sight doesn't mean your losing who you are.  It's beautiful and moving.

Happy reading,

Charlotte
